Simply put, Krav Maga is the the most practical and effective form of self-defense in the world today! Krav Maga perfectly incorporates techniques from various martial arts styles such as Judo, Kyokushin, mixed fighting and many more.

The idea, behind the Krav Maga can be summarized with a few words: "everything is permitted, when you are fighting for your own or others lives!"

The Krav Maga system covers two main parts, self-defense and close combat. Self-defense as the basis of the system contains learning of different techniques, which enable a defense against a multiplicity of violent attacks, like fist attacks, kicks, strangleholds, armed attacks with a knife, baseball bats or pistols.

Close combat is the more fastidious phase of Krav Maga, that teaches the advanced student how to disable the attacker fast and effective. It covers the elements of the actual controlling of the fight like tactics, the combination of different techniques, feints and physiological aspects of a fight.

Krav Maga is a modern highly developed self-defense and combat system against attacks on the street or sexual annoyances. The techniques taught in Krav Maga contain similarities with those of Ju Jitsu and Karate but without spectacular and demonstrative features. Thus there are no Katas or even sport competition because there exist no restrictive rules for fighting.

Krav Maga is not holding on traditional techniques and ways of thinking. It is a modern and effective system of self-defence adjusted and continually developed to satisfy the needs of the present time.

In addition to karate styles like Shotokan, Kyukushin-kai, Goju-ryu and others a new style is emerging - Sho Shin Karate Do what means the genuine, the honest way. The basis of Sho Shin Karate Do are self dicipline, responsibility and respect. The training concentrates 100% on kumite, 100% on kata and 100 % on mental training, all equal to form the full Karate not one before the other. In the Sho Shin Karate Do style we do not compromise, the style is growing day by day and is teached and trained by a large number of Karateka’s in Denmark, Israel, Norway, Germany and Russia.

Traditional styles e.g. Shotokan are showing the beauty of the art of fighting with the power of timing, control and focus but they are not prepared for contact and they can be easily beaten with a strong punch to the body or a low kick. But Karate includes both toughness as well as control. The body and mind of a Karateka must be hard like iron and soft like water. The knock-down styles are missing the control and the traditional styles are missing the contact. All the time we can hear from one side that knock-down like kyokushinkai is not Karate and the other side laughs and says that the „traditionals“ are not tough enough for real fighting. Karate becomes complete first when you combine strength and hardness with control, timing and focus. Thats why the best of the Sho Shin Karate Do competitors start in any type of Karate competition full contact or non contact.
